Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation

Mineral Foundation. I first started wearing foundation in the 80’s. Now you are imagining caked on makeup and big hair-sprayed hair (and are correct! Sadly…). I never would have dreamed that mineral foundation would come along and give such a natural look. First of all, who wants to apply a moisturizer and liquid foundation? It is like layers of paint clogging the pores. Alima Pure has a Satin Matte Foundation that is light and natural and appropriate for any age. I like it because it is brushed on top of the skin, not rubbed in which can cause all kinds of complexion problems. Mineral makeup is non-comedogenic which allows the skin to breathe. Also, mineral powders are inorganic therefore, bacteria cannot grow.

What I found brilliant and accurate is the Alima Pure questionnaire that helps you pick the right hue for your skin tone. But, if you feel you may fall in between two shades, the samples are only $1.50 if want make sure you have the best match before purchasing the full size. Depending on your skin type, there are several ways to use: 1. apply moisturizer before applying, 2. mix powder with your moisturizer, 3. the one-step: swirl brush in powder (be sure to tap excess back into container) and apply, or 4. swirl brush in powder, tap off excess, lightly mist the brush before application.

It wasn't too many years ago, 18 maybe, that wearing crystal pendants on a black cord around the neck was in style. My roommate brought me a beautiful one from New Mexico. People wear crystals to take advantage of their power to bring good, peaceful, healing energy to the body and mind. Jane W. This is a great alternative to the mainstream deodorants not only for the reason given on the webiste, but some studies suggest that aluminum ( a common property in deodorants)may also be linked to Alzheimers Disease. I would also like to mention that with infertilty on the rise(I know this first-hand) that many products used on and for the body become a concern. Please be aware of the composition of these products if you are planning a family.

Let's stick with the topic of hot icky August. Deodorant. I have found one I truly love by Nature's Gate. It conditions the skin and is just all around pleasant: clean and fresh. It protects well from sweat and odor. Many women are trying new deodorants without aluminum based compounds because of a possible link to breast cancer.

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special

I needed a haircut. I have fairly simple needs when it comes to styling (as in I usually end up tying it up by noon). Therefore, why not let a student practice on me! I went to the Paul Mitchell School in Tyson’s Corner (about a 20 minute drive from DC). It was great, I got a good haircut (do know they take their time and are supervised, allow for two hours). They have great specials on products to boot. I purchased shampoo, conditioner, and body soap for $20. The deal of the century was the haircut, though, at a whopping $12!

Now to the products: the best thing about the tea tree special products is the cooling peppermint sensation on the scalp. It has been so hot this summer, when I step out of the shower and the air conditioned air (my vent is on the ceiling in my bath) hits my head it feels fantastic. I even blow my hair dry on the cool setting it feels so good. The body bar soap is a huge bar and has a cooling sensation as well but not as strong. It lathers well and I also use on my face in the mornings.

Paul Mitchell is cruelty free (Paul Mitchell was the first hair care company to publicly oppose animal testing) and has an incredible Foundation that contributes to social welfare, education, the arts, environmental protection, and medical care and research.
